  1. Because you are the only one in this country who has any interest in going to Ghana

  2. It would be helpful to know from where you are flying.

  3. You might want to check to see if there are flights from major European cities like Paris, London, Brussels etc. to Ghana and try to connect through any city you can find a flight from. This website shows the different airlines that fly to Ghana, including Delta from JFK and British Airways from London,  check the airline websites to see  what you can find:

  4. You have to fly out of a large US international airport to fly there.

kayak.com lists flights from JFK in New York to Accra.

  5. I think it might have to do with the Ghanan Civil Aviation Authority  not being up to IACO standards. Otherwise I don't think there's anything specifically wrong with Ghana other than maybe lack of interest.

  6. There is not enough demand for an airline to fly direct from the US to Ghana.

Your best choice of flights would be the travel via the UK.

You will have a choice of flights from either Chicago or New York to London and then either British Airways from Heathrow or Ghana International from Gatwick to Accra.
