I have search the BBB, NAIC, AMbest.com I am not paying a penny to insurance until I can determine what complaints exist, how many, and for what reasons. Does anyone keep track of these records?

  1. The state department of insurance handles all insurance complaints.

  2. You'd be interested to know that insurance companies are regulated by each state in which they operate.  The federal government has chimed-in on behalf of those carriers that provide group coverage to corporations' employee benefit programs, but the oversight is practically nill.  National databases on the issue you are investigating are few and far in between.  Go to your state's insurance commissioner's web page, and you should be able to find state specific information on claims, denials, complaints per carrier, etc.  If you are more interested in getting a bigger picture on the insurance carrier, then get ready to spend some time.  You will find that State Farm is getting bad publicity, like the majority of the P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance companies for their responses to claimants in New Orleans and CA.  A google search with "complaints" "denied claims", etc. should pull-up a bunch of articles on the company itself.  Hope this helps!

  3. I work in the industry and i don't know any thing off the top of my head that records complaints like that where you can just read them over ...like online or something.

Best thing I could recommend would be to google things like customer reviews.

  4. State Farm is a big company, just like Nationwide, AllState, Geico, Progressive, etc. There are going to be tons of complaints about every single one of those companies. No insurance company can please every single one of its policyholders. You're really wasting your time.

  5. You sound like one of those anal customers that calls every month because their bill changed one dollar.  Get over yourself, every company is going to have complaints.  They wouldnt be where they are today if they werent a good company.

  6. Write to and explain your situation.

    Home Office

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company

    One State Farm Plaza

    Bloomington, Illinois  61710-0001

    Good Luck!

  7. ah, you're looking for hate in all the wrong places, LOL.

You can find complaints, in your state, on your state insurance department website.   The level of detail varies by state.

Last report I saw from Consumer Reports, State Farm, of all insurance companies, has the #1 lowest complaint ratio.  Pretty impressive, as they are also the LARGEST insurer of homeowners and auto in the US.

  8. I have had State Farm Insurance for 21 years. I have had to file a few claims......They pay immediately. I am extremely happy with them for my insurance needs.
