My husband and I have been trying for about 4 years now. When we first started my periods became very irregular then I got on provera to restart them. After about 2 years my doctor put me on Clomid and that is when I started cramping really bad when I ovulated. Now I bleed for months at a time with like a week or two off. My doctor only told me to try and use a basal thermo to track my temp. Please any advise will be appreciated.

  1. Are you seeing an RE?  Only a doctor would be able to say why you can't get pregnant.

  2. sounds like it's time for a second opinion, your doctor doesn't seem to be too interested in helping you.  and after 4 years you should be working with a fertility specialist, that's where you'll get the best care!

  3. It's crazy...here you are, trying your hardest to get pregnant..and then on Yahoo answers, you see 13 year olds posting dumb questions about how they became pregnant and how they're so scared! *gasp*

It's almost a joke, really. My husband and I tried to conceive for a while year. Last year around Thanksgiving time, it finally happened. I think it wasn't happening for a whole year because I was stressing so much over it. I kept thinking about the baby. I kept counting days, researching my ovulation charts, reading about all kinds of crazy methods to conceive a child. I had baby on the brain. Finally in November last year, I gave up. I had a move to think about. I had to pack things, clothes, furniture...had to get an apartment, start paying new bills with my husband, make a road trip to our new state..things were hectic and I forgot about baby-making, and somewhere around that time, it happened. I think when you are anticipating a child, your body isn't going to respond only because of how the stress hormones are high even though you don't know it. And this can even put your cycle off. It sucks, really. I have some really helpful sites for you though..you should check them out:

Good luck..I know it's so freakin frustrating...but it will happen. Like I said, we tried for a year..now I'm 37 weeks and almost ready to say Hello to my own little one. I do wish you the best.

  4. first i will go to a different doctor because it sounds like something is going on inside of you.  good luck. it might be because your bleeding so much that if you do concieve the embryo could wash out of your uterus. good luck oh and you should also have your husbands sperm counted because it might be him.

  5. You need to see another doctor for sure to make sure that something else is not going on inside of you. Please do not give up hope of getting pregnant. I have tried for 9 1/2 years going through fertility treatments with nothing but dissapointment and finally this year when I had finally given up BAM PREGO!

  6. Well, it sounds like your doctor is not doing everything in his power to help you. Why hasn't he questioned why you are bleeding for months at a time??? That is really odd. You cannot ovulate if you are always bleeding. If you do not have a regular cycle then it is very difficult to get pregnant. First go to the doctor and get your cycles on track. Then also consult your dr. about fertility problems and your experiences with clomid. Review your options with your doctor. I hope this helps, good luck to you and baby dust!!!
