Why can't I give a YouTube comment a thumbs up/down?

Let's say you're looking at a YouTube video. You're browsing through the comments, and you find one that has something like 6 thumbs downs, so you have to click the "Show" link to make the comment appear. The thumbs up/down is grayed out, so I can't click it. How the heck do I rate the comment??

  1. Are you logged into You Tube as an Account Holder?

If you aren't,..you need to sign-up to be able to comment on other post's by other users.

Another reason for the greyed-out thumbs up/down,..is that,.that particular comment has got SO many thumbs down,..it's been "Flagged" so it needs to get some thumbs up to take away the minus and make it comment able again.

  2. You have to sign up to YouTube.

  3. Activate ur account.....thats it...enjoy

  4. Simple, but it will require your email address. YouTube requires you to create an account in order to post videos, comment, rate movies, and more. You'll have to create an account if you want to do anything other than just watch a movie.

    1. Go to youtube.com

    2. In the upper-right hand corner, there's a link that says "Sign Up". Click that.

    3. Fill out the form, then click "Create My Account". You may have to click the activation link in your inbox.

Once you are signed in, go to the movie you want to rate and presto! The rating feature is unlocked.

  5. Okay, here is the real reason why this happens. It's because the comment has been given too many thumbs down. YouTube doesn't allow any more than 6 thumbs downs. Only the person who created the video can rate it as much as he/she wants. Other people can't rate a comment once it has too many thumbs downs.
