Why can't I go back a page?

The internet was working fine earlier but now I can't go back a page on the internet.

Why?

may be the page ur trying to get back is secured website which will not allow you to go back,like bank websites or credit card website or any online transaction websites,jus for security reasons

Is the back button grayed out?  (That tab didn't come from another page.)

Are you getting an error message when you go back?  (What message?)

Is it only on one site?  (URL?)
