Why can't I go to sleep lately - insomnia help?

I've been really tired in the morning, and I feel like I could sleep a lot! I've been drinking about two lattes a week - more than usual. I usually go for about 1 or 2 a month. I drink tea instead, usually. But lately, it's like I have a hard time getting out of bed, but when it's time to settle down at night, I'm wide awake. I literally have to talk to myself (silently, of course) in my sleep, imagining a calm place so that I can fall asleep, if that even works! Help me out here ...

  1. Well, first of all, tea contains more caffeine than coffee. So try cutting out the tea, or switch to decaf.

    Other than that, try something to de-stress before bed. A hot bath, a quiet movie (not a scary movie or suspense movie), listen to music that calms you, and make sure you're sleeping in a bed with crisp, clean-smelling sheets. That always helps me sleep better.


  2. When you drink more caffeine than usual it stimulates the body more making it harder to shut down to let you sleep. I would say don't drink any drinks with caffeine and then you need to try to relax before going to bed. Also make sure your tv isn't in your bedroom.  

  3. your prolly used to waking up late and going to sleep late cuz of summer. its like that for me, im not used to going to sleep early, so i end up falling asleep around 3, then i go to school and come back home tired as h**l. i take a nap and the whole thing repeats itself lol

    so sleeping problems usually just take time. & medication won't be the key.

  4. Insomnia is usually caused by stress or caffeine .  when I had a big test coming , i would go to bed at 11 but really sleep at 2 . My dada taught me how to count sheep but that just gets you irritated if you ask me . I tried 2 things , both quite good .  First , take a warm bath before u go to sleep . Second , tire yourself a bit before going to sleep . Not to much or the adrenaline will keep you up all night . The coffee is the one that causes you to stay awake . Try cutting back on the lattes before bed time , though i think its just stress . Good Luck
