Well before there was a picture of a speaker on the bottom right of my computer and it's not there anymore. I think I removed it by accident. I have been searching on the internet if other people have this problem and i came to a question that had an answer that said "download audio codec". What is audio codec? Do I need to download that ? And if so, Please give me the link to download it because I searched it and download one kind but it didn't work so please give me the website.

  1. You don't need an audio codec if you can't hear any sound.  You need to install the drivers for your sound card.  Open your Device Manager through the control panel in Windows to figure out which sound card your computer has, then look up the drivers from the manufacturer

  2. go to the manufacturers website (dell.com, hp.com) go to the support page, search for the model of the computer, go to the downloads section and download the sound driver (like ac97), install that and then restart the pc

If you can give me the which company made the computer and computer's model number, I can get you the website.

  3. u need to install the audio drivers again!!all vendors provide a cd of these sound drivers(genrally)!!search for that!!

if not then search for the compatible sound driver on the website of the company whose pc u own!!its usually free to download!!

it can be something like "realtek" depending on wht pc model u hve!!
