Ok I want to be an actress More than anything... But my mom won't let me audition for anything because she thinks I won't make it... Why is this? I mean, I want to audition at a play center near my city, and I cant' audition for anything! I'm taking drama this year so maby she'll see how much I love it. But what should I do if she still doesn't get how much I love it? She wants me to be a cheerleader.. I want to be a cheerleader for high school, but I don't' want to make it into a career! What should I do? I told her how much it meant to me, btu she doesn't' believe it because I'm ONLY 14... That's' not really young is it? I mean it's not really younger but it's not really old.. what should I do? I love it more than anything!

  1. tell her that this is what you WANT to do...if you like cheerleading then do it but if you don't want to make a living out of it then to get to involved in it. remember want your passion is because u should be able to do what you want to in the future. maybe what a while or try out for school plays (if your school has them).

  2. Compromise, tell her that you will cheer if she will allow you to try out for a few things. Tell her that you will not be disappointed if you do not make it but you feel you have talent and you will continue to wonder if you are good enough to make it in a play.

As her if she believes in you? Tell her you need her to believe in you.

    GOOD LUCK!

  3. Maybe she doesn't want you to cause acting is not really a reasonable career, haven't you seen how most of these young actors turn out but if you want to do it that badly just wait till your older and you can go to auditions and stuff where you don't need your mom

  4. Ask your Mom if she ever had dreams of doing something. Let her tell you about them and ask if she ever did anything to make them happen. Being a cheerleader is very time demanding, but so is community theater. I'm sure you would rather spend that time doing what you enjoy, acting.  Tell Mom that you would like the chance to audition for a play with your local theater. My daughter started when she was your age and our local theater offers classed for young grade school kids.

I'm glad to hear that you are taking Drama in school; it will give you an idea about whether it is something you really enjoy. Once Mom sees your enthusiasm, she may loosen up about it. You know, cheerleading may have been a dream of hers that she didn't get to do. Don't let her make her dream yours. And follow your own dreams...don't let yourself have regrets when you are older...live your dreams now.

  5. tell her you want to give it a shoot if you don't make it the tell her you will be a cheerleader
