Question:

Why can't I open my flash drive?

I can't get to my flash drive from anywhere! It doesn't show up in "My Computer", and I tried going to "Run" and typing in the hub "F:\", but it said there wasn't anything in that location. The flash drive itself seems to be fine--it isn't physically damaged, and it lights up when I plug it in. Also, Windows shows the "hi speed device in non-hi speed hub" message, which has never happened before. How can I get to my drive? :( Please help; I have a lot of important files in there.

  1. there is a trojan horse virus on the flash drive which is causing it not to be detected---and which is not being detected by your anti virus software---I don't have any ideas on how to get back your files ----i had this trojan virus once on my flash drive and i had to format it to get rid of it.

  2. Hi: Did your flash drive come with drivers r is it plug n play? You may have to download latest drivers for your mobo from your manufacturies website or your os disk. If your drive was working before go back a few days with your restore option tool. Also use windows update if you haven't done so lately. You can go into control panel and click system, then hardware, then device manager, then choose disk drives and update usb devices from ther. maybe someone else has a suggestion. Have a good day.

  3. try different usb port

    try different computer

    try mac

  4. Basically what this means is that the ports reading capabilities aren't fast enough for it to read your USB. Try to put your USB into a newer and less used port. After this try and extract all your work onto a computer.
