I am 36w4d w/ twin boys and since yesterday i feel like my bladder is completely full and when i go to the rr i cant pee or its just dribbles. I also have to go pee a lot when i wake up and this morning i couldnt do anything. This is not normal for me. Can anyone help me with why i may not be able to pee like normal. Right now i feel like i need to go but nothing comes out. Sorry tmi but i just wanted to know if other moms have experienced this.

  1. Assuming that you are drinking as you normally do, you should be producing at least some urine on some of the occasions that you go to the bathroom. If you literally have barely dribbled since yesterday, you should probably call your doctor.

That being said - it is normal to have the sensation of a full bladder at the end of pregnancy, only to go to the bathroom and produce just a tiny amount. Often times, I stand up and STILL feel like I have to go, even though I literally just went. It is because your uterus is taking up so much room, leaving not much leftover for your bladder/stomach/lungs. And you have twins, so that is going to be even more compounded for you! Add to that the pressure that your baby itself might be putting on your bladder through laying on it a certain way, sometimes kicking or punching it, or like I think my baby does - juggling it :-)

But even though this feeling is common, you should produce more than a dribble at least now and then! In any case, it would not hurt to call your doctor and see what they think. If they are worried, they will have you come in to test for a bladder infection or whatever else they feel is appropriate.

  2. That sounds like cystitis to me.  I had it when I was 16 weeks pg.  Do you have any sort of burning sensation when you do pee?

Drink loads of fluids (like 3 litres of water) and if it doesn't go away by tomorrow go to the doctor.  UTIs can sometimes travel up to your kidneys so its really important to get this sorted if poss.

  3. I am almost certain that it is a urinary tract infection; I have some experience with those ;) Also, another symptom would be immediately after you pee you feel like you still reallllllly need to go. Anyway, cranberry juice will clear up most infections within a few days, but you should probably go and check with your doctor to make sure it isnt anything more serious than that. Not being able to pee is never a good thing. Best of luck!

  4. yes im only 22 weeks and been having the same thing for the last couple of weeks. as you are having twins there is more pressure on your bladder so it will constantly feel like you need to go when you dont. i always think i really need to go but when it comes to it hardly anything is there. if there is any pain have a chat with your midwife just incase its an infection. good luck.

  5. The baby or babies may be pressing on your ureter. Call your doctor and tell them your symptoms, it can also be a sign of a uti. Good luck!

  6. lol I'm SO there with you!!! I feel the urge to pee and nothing comes out. I guess it's just the baby putting pressure on our bladders and playing with our minds. Try bending a little when peeing, to put more pressure on the bladder and make sure it's all emptied. If you are afraid something could be wrong do ask your doctor to test for and UTI, though, cause having a UTI while pregnant can cause complications!

    Good luck x*x

  7. That happened to me when I was 16 weeks with twins and it turned out to be kidney stones. I couldn't for the life of me pee or get more then a little dribble out. However I was having pain and vomiting with it...seriously worse then labor. Since you didn't mention any pain I would think it's more that they are blocking your ureters or something that is preventing you from being able to empty your bladder. They could be on our bladder in a way that's causing it?

I would contact your Dr about it just to be on the safe side.

  8. I would call your doctor.  This could develop into something serious.

  9. Sounds like it could be a urinary tract infection. You should call your doctor right away and get yourself checked out.

  10. you have a UTI or a bladder infection. you should go to the doctor because if you leave this untreated i can cause you to get a kidney infecion and/or go into early labor. good luck and congrats on the baby!

  11. Have you tried lifting your belly up off your bladder and see if you can go then?  Sounds like the babies are pushing on your bladder a lot.  Maybe ask your Dr.  I had this problem but was in labor with my daughter.  They had to give me a catheter.

  12. The babies are putting a lot of pressure on your bladder, so that probably explains what is happening.  But do have them check you for a bladder infection, next time you go for a doctor's appountment.  You can have a bladder infection without pain, so it's a good idea to just rule out the possibility.

    And, congratulations!

  13. Most likely, it is the twins pressing on your bladder that make you think you have to go so badly, but it could also be a urinary tract infection.  Tell your doctor what you are experiencing, and she will probably test you for an infection.  If the UTI test is negative, then just know that whenever you feel that you have a bladdar full, it isn't your bladdar that is full, but your uterus.

  14. sounds like a UTI - go to the doc
