Why can't I post an external link?

Why can't I post an external internet link to a yahoo-groups group? Each time I mention/write/paste an internet http link, it reaches the recipients in a broken format. Therefore, clicking on the link becomes impossible. For example, when I send http://www.yahoo .com

The best way around this problem is to instruct your readers to copy the address you want them to access into the address bar of their browser.
