Question:

Why can't I see any images/pictures/files (all attachedment) in people's posted messages in my yahoo groups?

Recently I joined a group, and have been approved by the moderator. I am using the 'Individual Email' option for the message delivery. but, when the other member posts new messages the messages sometimes contain images/pictures and files and when I enter/read the post I can never see any images. All it shows is a box with 'Attachment(not stored)', then the filename, and then 'Type: image/jpeg'. Can anyone help? Is there a setting I need to adjust somewhere? Do I need to post messages myself to view images?

Any help will be most appreciated, thanks.

  1. Where are you trying to view the attachments - on the Group web site or in your Individual Emails?  If it's the former, that's your problem - the Groups web site never stores attachments, so you can't view them there.  However, you should be able to see each attachment in your Individual Emails.  If you're trying to view the attachments in your Individual Emails and you still can't do it, then I'm not sure what the problem is, but it would probably be a problem with your e-mail server or mail-reading software, as opposed to a problem with Yahoo Groups.

As for your last question, no you don't need to post a message yourself to view attachments - that won't make a difference.

  2. are you seeing that in your own e-mail or on the groups post? you need to look at them in your own mail and maybe check those settings. on a group they will never store
