Question:

Why can't I see pictures attached to Yahoo! group messages, even when viewing from the group website?

I used to be able to see pictures attached to messages then one day I just noticed I couldn't any longer.

The group is set to allow attachments and other users do see the photos. I do not get them in emails, nor do I see them when browsing the group's website (yes, I'm logged in).

The bottom of the message when viewed from the group website says the name of the photo file and then "Attachment Not Stored".

I have checked my membership settings and I am using a full-featured subscription (although that appears to only apply to emails received from the group rather than the online browsing experience).

I am using Windows 2000 and Mozilla Firefox BUT I have the same trouble with IE.

My computer is not blocking images from the page and there is no warning or option to over-ride pop-up blocking, etc. as one is accustomed to receiving when images are blocked this way.

This is the case on 3 different computers using my account on dozens of Yahoo! groups.

  1. Additional Details

if you cannot see them in individual mail, it's a mail setting/ issue and not related to the group or yahoo.  you should not have to be using the same provider as whose sending, either. some mail providers has setting to disable attachments/ embedded photo's and HTML (my providers does, every now and again, my kid changes it on me) go take a look at those mail settings

Yahoo groups do not store them to the archives, maybe you would see them if they were sent as html but JPEGS, no.

to see them you need the group mail setting of individual mail

  2. You need to use the email that each member recives when a post is sent, that's the only way you can see the pictures. You may need to change your settings in the group, to recieve the emails.

I have member of my group that is having the same problem as well. We haven't found the cause, everyone else seems to be getting all the photos in emails as attachments. We have contacted yahoo to see what's the cause it. No response as of 3 weeks ago.
