Why can't I send a playboy to my little brother in Iraq?

I jokingly told my mom I would send my little brother a Playboy to keep him busy and she said no, that we can't send them anything... and then a website said no pornography/ nude photos. Also, they said we can send canned meat, but not pork? Is this because it's a muslim country or what?

I guess because it's a Muslim country they don't want him grabbing the pork in any shape or form! I guess they don't respect the wishes of non- Muslim people defending their nation!

Yes your assumptions are correct, no p**n or pork because they are in a Muslim country and we are trying to respect their views (no matter what the media may try to portray) And no alcohol either, that may have some bearing on the Muslim religion but it is mainly a rule because they are in a war zone.

The no pornography thing is because p**n can be deemed offensive by some people that might see it. At least that was what was told to me.

If you want to send him something nice, how bout a AAFES or NEX gift card with a nice letter or something, so he can buy what he wants at the local exchange.

You can't send him a Playboy because all the other guys in his unit will be jealous and that would be bad for morale.

You can't send pork because VP Cheney owns a very large chicken ranch and wants to cut down on competition.  

Spend him SPAM - it stands for Squirrel, Possum and Mouse.  Yes, its really pork but nobody will know.
