Question:

Why can't I uninstall photoshop?

When I try to uninstall photoshop, it says that Internet Explorer is running.

But I swear it's not.

I exited out every window, and made sure I exited and signed out of MSN.

The only things that are on my toolbar is my clock, my volume, Mcafee SecurityCenter, and Automatic Updates.

Please help me! =[

  1. try http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3...

  2. This kind of thing happens all the time because Windows is a totally screwed up mess. Photoshop and Explorer have nothing to do with one another, but something got corrupted and now your registry is all out of whack.

You have a few options. One is very time consuming and involves editing and clearing the registry - either manually or with a piece of software designed to do this.

The other is to reinstall the entire operating system from your boot CD. This is pretty drastic and will require you to also reinstall all your software and probably do a bunch of updates.

There are some other things you can try, but I think you're going to need professional help. Be sure to send Microsoft the bill.

  3. Reboot your computer and try again. Or load you system in safe mode and then uninstall, by pressing F8 before the windows loading screen appears.

  4. Looks like the Automatic Updates need to finish whatever it is doing first. That may be the "Internet Explorer is running" complain which you are getting.
