  1. make sure the file extensions match

  2. Usually windows media player will play video_ts files, you have to select them individually, so your really cant watch them all that great.  Go to www.magicdvdripper.com and download the program, this program will convert your dvd to a playable file, or it can backup your dvd and burn it to a regular disc.

  3. Burned to your Hard drive? Well, firstly, you need to play those in a media player that will support it. Second, you can't just take a rented or purchased dvd and copy those files to your drive and have it work. It is copyright protected. You would have to rip the protection off of it.

You have to give us more information here. Where did the files come from? Video_ts is a file format for dvd video encoding. It is actually an mpeg2 file. But, as I said, you need to tell us more so we can tell you what the problem is.
