I have a laptop which has built in wireless and connects to my BT Home Hub this way, but when I set up and AdHoc wireless connection for the printer it closes the internet connection and I cannot connect to internet.

How do I set it up so that I can use the internet and be connected to the printer at the same time? I have tried entering the SSID etc. for the home hub for the printer to connect through this, but the printer won't connect.

I'm using Vista btw.

  1. You have set up things incorrectly :(

You would only have to connect AdHoc if you didn't have a wireless router (then AdHoc would be the only way to communicate).

Without seeing your printer I would imagine that it would first need to be plugged into the wireless router/another PC that is connected to the router by ethernet cable so it could learn the network settings and then it will run directly over your BT Home Hub router.

Look again at the instructions :(

    HTH

EDIT - stand corrected :( - just looked at the manual, page 37 on the online version http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs...
