Why can't WWE stay on the same channel anymore ? It seems that the shows have changed many channels in the last few years.

  1. idk

  2. Sports I believe, or because a different channel requested them to boost ratings.

  3. To compete with football would be my guess

  4. Raw is switching to Sci-Fi next week because of the U.S. Tennis Open which starts at the same time on USA. this is the last year that will happen. Smackdown is switching to MyNetwork TV for good because the tv contract with CW expired.

  5. I think the CW is changing there line up and they feel like wwe doesn't fit in with them anymore.

  6. because vince wants too

  7. They've been on the same channel since 1999. The channel just changed its name from UPN to CW. And they're changing it because they're not making enough money with SmackDown being on basic television.

  8. RAW is going to be on Sci-Fi next week only because USA is going to be showing coverage of the US Open. Once that coverage ends they will be airing RAW. The following Monday it will be back to the same old 9p timeslot as normal.

SmackDown is going to MyNetwork TV because the CW chose not to renew their WWE contract. They gave their reason because they felt viewers only tuned in for SmackDown & not for any other show on the channel. Despite SmackDown easily being their highest rated show (more than 2x the amt watch than the next most popular show Smallville) they cite that reason.

ECW could possibly be moving from Sci-Fi in the future as well. They recently renewed ECW for 1 year on the network, but was for a while looking like ECW would follow Heat into becoming a webcast only.

  9. I'm guessing RAW changed channels for ONE night only to see who watches it more.. who paid attention the new yesterday.
