  1. you can but why the h**l would you want to. ******* A i swear first miss south carolina and now you. what is happening to our country?

  2. Because some idiot President in the 60's got cheesed off when Castro decided he had enough of the yanks tapping his country's resources. So he kicked them all out and then came the "Bay of Piggs" drama.

They tried to get rid of Fidel for ever but never came close..

The man gave Cuba hospitals and education and some of the best doctors in the world. Yet the US is the only country to sanction and starve the Cuban economy today. And for what? Nobody can remember. And Castro is still alive and regarded as one of the best leaders of his era, and a long era it is. What did Cuba ever do to the US other than to successfuly resist a giant?

Thats why ONLY US citizens are not welcome. Its no secret.

Today Cuban territory (Guantanamo) is used to torture anybody suspected of what the US believes to be a terrorist. Very ironic

  3. because castro did not approve of how the u.s .wanted to do trade agreements in the late 50's and the u.s. said fine, you won't buy from us we won't give you tourism. also some war i think called the bay of pigs.

  4. A US citizen CAN go to Cuba and do so legally. Many choose to travel via a third country, i.e. Canada, but need to be sure that their passports don't get stamped and they don't leave paper trails. The 'illegal' thing from the US is that an American can't spend money in Cuba, not the travel itself. However, if you get a license for travel and special permission from the US government to go to Cuba, you can go and be able to spend money, etc.

If you have immediately family in Cuba, you can go and visit, educational/teaching purposes, volunteering, medical, religious, journalism, and other professional reasons are permitted to entry into Cuba legally.

Cubans will welcome you to Cuba and will not give you a problem because you're American. It's only the US that makes it difficult in any way possible.

The whole problem is because of the US embargo against Cuba.

The United States embargo against Cuba (described in Cuba as el bloqueo, Spanish for "the blockade") is an economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed on Cuba on February 7, 1962. The embargo was enacted after Cuba expropriated the properties of United States citizens and corporations (notably those that belonged to the United Fruit Company and the ITT).

The embargo was codified into law in 1992 with the stated purpose of "bringing democracy to the Cuban people", and in fact is entitled the Cuban Democracy Act. In 1996 Congress passed the Helms-Burton Act which further restricted United States citizens from doing business in or with Cuba, and mandated restrictions on giving public or private assistance to any successor regime in Havana unless and until certain claims against the Cuban government are met. In 1999, U.S. President Bill Clinton expanded the trade embargo even further by ending the practice of foreign subsidiaries of U.S. companies trading with Cuba in dollar amounts totaling more than $700 million a year.

At present, the embargo, which limits American businesses from conducting business with Cuban interests, is still in effect, making it one of the few times in history that United States citizens have been restricted from doing business abroad, and is the most enduring trade embargo in modern history. Despite the existence of the embargo, the United States is the seventh largest exporter to Cuba (4.3% of Cuba's imports are from the US).

  5. They're not supposed to, but they can and they do!  Just book a ticket through Mexico and then fly to Cuba.  They understand and will not stamp your passport.  The Cubans love americans, and they especially love the money.  You'll be treated very well!  And I have heard that the people that go, have a wonderful time there.
