Here in Fiji, coffee business is just new and locals here don't know much about it. I am a coffee lover and have been ever since I was allowed to drink coffee. But since then a lot of coffee shops have opened in Fiji and so have the doors to western civilization for some.
I just got back from a business trip to New York with my business partner-this being the first for me there. He took me to starbucks and I was amazed to hear the different kinds of orders flying from corner to corner. When it came for my turn to order I just stood in front of the counter dumb found, I didn't even know what to order, with the list so long with a language known only to those screaming over the counter. The checker looked at me and said, "first time?, let me interest you in a drink I personnaly like, a venti, triple shot non-fat, sugar-free, cinnamon dolche latte, with whip?".My mind was blank but I could feel my head bobbing back and forth in agreement. It was very nice but really all I wanted was coffee, you know with hot water and a bit of milk and sugar to taste. Why can't coffee just be coffee?
I don't know what you make of my situation but if you have suggestions for names of coffee beverages that taste good, be my guest.
