  1. i never really thought about that! maybe because when they cut the hole in the middle they can use that for selling the donut holes but really idk why they decided they would be a circle!

  3. Well...its simply cause the doughnut was designed round. Like an eclair, if made round would be called a profiterole and if fried we call it a beignet..

  5. Beignets are square and they are essentially doughnuts.

    Also, you have bars (some places call them long johns) and twist which are rectangular.

  7. I guess that's why they called it dough nuts because the are a circle. If they where going to be squared they will be call Square nuts.

  8. Because then when you did "doughnuts" in your car, like on ice or in the rain for fun, you would have to drive in a square instead of a constant turn - which is more fun! :)

    p.s. - Rican - "dough" doesnt mean circle, lol

  10. Robert Irvine made some square ones last night, on Dinner Impossible.....and filled doughnuts are quite often square
