  1. Earl Grey is more of a green tea- sort after for it's distinctive flavour and aroma which, I think, is extracted from a fruit rind?

Anyway, even with several bags in the cup you'll never get it as dark as a regular tea blend (such as Yorkshire Tea) and for Earl Grey Tea, it's not the goal to stew it like soup but to enjoy a light, fragrant drink :)

  2. Earl grey is my favourite tea, and let me tell you, you will not get a good Earl Grey tea from Costa, or Starbucks or any of those places.  Earl Grey is traditionally meant to be served with a slice of lemon, as it is a slightly citrusy tea.  The best way is to make it in a pot, with loose tea leaves.  Leave it to brew for 5-10 minutes, and have with lemon.  You can have it with milk instead if you wish, but both are nice.

The best Earl Grey tea I had was in an English tearooms in Italy, ironically.  A good cup of tea must be made with care and love!

  3. Earl Grey is scented with bergamot oil. It's not like other black teas. But not all earl grey blends are the same. Try different brands and see which one you prefer best.
