Why can't i remove certain icons from my desktop?

Question

I installed Sony Ericsson software for my phone which has a file manager but for some reason i cant get the icon off my desktop,does anyone know how i do this?

try restarting in safe mode (f8) and then take it out

you can,t get our sony to go.

try ~go into "search all files"

when it brings up all or any sony files delete them from there.

sometimes sony will ~ create a new file on desk top ~name it fred (your choice )put sony in it then delete fred.

Use TweakUI to remove it from your desktop.

right click on the icon this should bring a list with delete showing click on delete, this gets rid of the icon but doesn't uninstall the programme

Click and drag the icon to the recycling bin.

I had the simular problem but if you know that software, type it in and search for it and then try deleting it but it will possibly delete the whole thing.

Try uninstalling the software and reinstall then uncheck place icons on desktop and thats it
