Why can't i upload videos from my camcorder?

i installed the disc it came with .. and everything else gets uploaded [voice recordings, pictures] but my videos don't. it came with a usb cord and it says that i can upload videos to youtube .. but i can't even watch my videos on the computer. does anyone know what i can do to make this work?

If its a digital camera, you probably need a digital cable (fire wire).  If it is a digital, it won't upload probably through USB.
