Why can't i use my 1800 watt inverter in my van? it worked fine in the kenworth.?

  1. It takes a lot of battery power to drive it and the Kenworth has that while the van doesn't. Electrical devices do not work for free. About 75% efficiency is normal. Therefore to produce 1800 watts AC out you'll need around 2400 Watts of DC power in, if not more. That takes a lot of battery.


  2. check the inverter. most that size need to be wired directly to the battery. you may ned a bigger battery and or alternator to handle supplying the power
