  1. I never heard that they couldn't. A trimmed beard is very stylish.

I know back when Mark Spitz was swimming in the Olympics they told him to shave his mustache. He didn't & won. (this was in the 70's....I'm showing my age)

  2. the main reason is because of the track. with the dirt and all if they have a beard the dirt or mud could get stuck in it and they need to look semi nice for the winners circle.

  3. Because they like to look smart, unlike so many footballers, pop stars, actors, who go around with several days "designer stubble" and think they look cool, while in fact they look like a lot of dirty scruffs.

  4. They are not fully developed real men, they are stunted and retarded.  A kind of fetal boy-man.

  5. Because they are bounced around when they are infants so that all the testosterone falls out of them - this makes them short and so suitable jockey material.

  6. They can grow facial hair like any other adult men. The problem is that it isn't practical in their profession. Can you imagine all the dirt and mud they get flung in their face during a race? Now imagine having to clean that out of a beard or mustache.

  7. Freddy, my ex was a jockey, he was 5` 10" and shaved twice a day !! Oh by the way he was ALL MAN.

  8. Hair doesnt grow on egg shells

  9. Because they are a fashion disaster???  Not that jockeys are the most stylish individuals...

  10. Well my horses keep getting beat by a whisker, so I don't know if it would be an advantage or not.
