Question:

Why can't men just learn to put down the toilet seat?

Damnit my husband left the toilet seat up last night and I nearly fell in the bowl when I went to use it in the middle of the night. Mothers should teach their sons if they ever get married, learn to put the toilet seat down as a sign of respect to your wife.

Don't you ladies agree with me?

  1. a man invented the toilet, so a man decides the standard position of the seat, , which is up.  YOU need to quit whining, and lift the seat when YOU are done, and when a woman invents something that men use, women can decide how it is used

  2. don't know, don't care

no, i don't agree with you

  3. Lol I think it's just a form of laziness. ALthough my hubby is neater than me and he used to complain that I left the lid up because it's neater and good ettiquette to have the entire lid down. But I am a little lazy, I forget to rinse the bath out or put the lid down. I agree with the principle but I'm very forgetful. But if we have guests round I will do it.

EDIT: Are we the only ones that don't like to be blinded by putting a light on in the bathroom? That's the worst thing in teh mkiddle of the light to have a 100 watt bulb in your face.

  4. Why can't women do it themselves? I thought you were "equal" to men. Do you not have the brain capacity and the physical capability to reach out your arm and grab the seat with your hand and gently ease it down? I mean, seriously it takes no more than 10 seconds. What kind of idiot do you have to be to try to sit on a toilet WITHOUT feeling the seat first? Oh wait, a woman. How pathetic. Once again, women want things handed to them on a silver platter. Here's a thought. Stop relying on others and actually learn to do things yourself. 10 lousy seconds. Incredible.

  5. My boyfriend leaves the toilet seat up ALL of the time but he's good to me and he's a wonderful man so I don't complain. I'm just knowledgeable that this is a habit of his and I've made it my habit to put it down before I use the bathroom....no biggie. After all, he could be doing way worse things.

  6. That's funny, yet dangerous. Women should turn on a light and look before they use the bathroom.

  7. haha.  How's about mothers teach their daughters how to put the toilet seat up as a sign of respect for their future husbands?

My sons are being taught how to become self-sufficient so they don't have to get married later on to have a woman to rely on.  My sons aren't going to grow up to be subservient to women.

  8. is it that hard to put it down?

who pisses in the dark? the lights are on...put the seat down

  9. LOL!

My husband always puts the toilet seat down. I guess he learned it from living in a house full of women. He also opens my car door for me! He's a gentleman:)

  10. Why can't you just put it down?

  11. because most men are pigs. you know how all woman and mothers will say... "boys will be boys" while rolling their eyes and smiling as their little boys run around like posessed children.

yeah that's us taking weird and annoying behavior as normal and not doing anything about it...when really that's the early stages when it should be changed. in actuality, we don't raise our little girls to behave like we allow our little boys to act. running around and reaping havok. and YET, when they grow up to be men...we question why they act so disgustingly.

it's our fault. mothers and society. it's not something to get worked up over or offended. it's just society and boys upbringing. we have to start EXTRA early with them or else they won't get it.

  12. haha thats hilarious that you nearly fell in. Howabout you look next time

  13. Why cant you learn to put it up? Seems a little arrogant to want men to do everything for you, you wanted equal rights, stop yer whinin......

  14. My teenage son has starting leaving the seat down and I didn't have to tell him.  Yes, sitting on the actual bowl is quite cold and painful!

  15. if something this trivial bothers you, i question what kind of person you are. perhaps you are very much bothered by everything. and i congratulate myself for remaining single, rather than to live with someone who is so bothered by such benign issues.

  16. Because since women have fought for their rights, men feel they should have the right to put it down themselves, being a gentlemen no longer applies in this society, but I have to admit, being a lady doesn't apply either. Chivalry is dead, and anything that relates to it is considered bias stereotyping and discriminatory. ;-)

  17. Well my husband and I both put everything down...lid and all.  I would probably be a bit annoyed but just be happy you are in shape enough that you are able to fall in.

  18. A lot of women complain of this.I have never had a problem with it,I just put it down before I go,not a big deal. Now if he constantly left the toliet paper empty I would complain.

  19. Why can't woman just learn to put up the toilet seat?

  20. I don't care, as long as there aren't any floaters.

  21. I prefer to have the lid down, because it has a pretty pattern of dolphins and shells on it which I like to see when I go in the bathroom.  However, if it isn't down i just put it down myself.  does it matter?  And if I have to go to the bathroom in the night I normally put the light on.  Don't you have a light in your bathroom?
