I set up the vcr to record a program that was 3hrs long on a T-120 Sony VHS, on "SLP" speed. But when I went to check it out, all I could see was snow. What did I do wrong?

  1. Did you remember to rewind it before you looked at it?

Did you have an antenna connected to the VCR?

Did you choose the correct channel to record and not the adjacent one (like pressing 5 but getting 6 or vice versa)?

Is the TV tuned to the correct channel (3 or 4) for viewing?

Did you set the clock first?

Did you set the timer for the correct time and day?

Have you ever cleaned the VCR heads?

Have you ever demagnetized the VCR heads?
