instead of agreement that there is a differance of opinion people have tendencies to put others down and ridicule instead of accepting that not everyone agree's on everything and people have a right to their oppinion.a lot of people think if you don't agree with their thought you are wrong.then imediately catagorize you and belittle you.

is it just me or is this a real problem in todays society.

  3. The idea of being right is a survival mechanism and most people don't realize this.  To be wrong is to die as to be right is to survive.

People tend to assume that since their political viewpoint is the result of their reasoning process, that any other viewpoint has to be the result of something other than reason.  Therefore the only explanation for a differing viewpoint is that the other guy is stupid, evil, or engaged in a conspiracy.

  7. Some questions that are ask sound more like an attack than a question.  Labels and generalizations do nothing but make people defensive and antagonize the group that is labeled.   Sticking to the issue is apt to get fewer, but better answers.  Few people could argue with the point you are making.

  8. I will agree to that.

  9. Personally, I don't know why people just can't agree to dissagree: it would make peace be easier to obtain.

    That's my 2 cents worth....

  10. Well, when it comes to liberals and conservatives, each side thinks the other is destroying the country and each side thinks the other has to be stopped at all costs. So, when the two sides meet, it's always more like a street fight to the death than a civilized political discussion.
