Question:

Why can't people be honest?

Every time I read about animals (besides them dying from global warming), everyone thinks that we must save them. That would be fine if people came out and just said, "we don't care about natural selection, we think it is always better to have animals even though natural selection doesn't think so...we don't care about it."

Yet people remain so arrogant that it disgusts me. We like cute animals over mean predators, we need to save them even though Ebola is killing them etc. What ever happened to good old natural selection? What if they need to die? Why do people remain such arrogant control freaks that try to control and change a planet that will never be static?

I just don't get it. Just be honest and say that you don't give a flip about Darwin and we have to save things from natural selection by OUR natural selection.

  1. Don't globalize the arrogance, as many of us, such as me, love not only the "cute" ones, but also the predators, etc. They are the Earth's beautiful creatures that make up part of the beauty of our land.

  2. when we cause c**p it is not natural selection it is us thinking we're GOD an ALL important.

Its not about likes or dislike is about ignorance and greed.

NO life should go extinct just so we can fill our over greedy life on this planet

  3. Whites people always running around the globe trying to save or pretend to save something.. they have made a terrible mess of this world...

  4. I somewhat agree with darwin(some just need to die),but since we are killing off the animals(not all so get off my back) we feel guilty and try to save them.Or since we have the knowledge to save them,we feel it's our responsibility to intervene with natural selection, and save them.

  5. The leading cause of endangered species isn't Ebola; it's human interference such as destruction of natural habitats.  People who are trying to save endangered species aren't trying to interfere with the natural order of things; they're trying to minimize the damage done by humans.

Serious conservationists aren't only trying to save cute animals like pandas.  They're also working to save endangered predators and scavengers such as wolves and condors.

    [edit]

You people who think humans should be allowed to exterminate other forms of life are the arrogant ones.  In fact, arrogance isn't a strong enough word; I'd call it hubris.  That was the ancient Greeks' word for pride so extreme it brought on tragedies of epic proportions.  Killing off other species just because our technology enables us to do it isn't survival of the fittest; it's just wanton destruction, and not only of animals.  Plant species are being wiped out as well.  If you really succeeded in killing off all of the other animals and plants in your quest to take over the whole planet, what would we eat?  Soylent green, anyone?  We probably wouldn't have to resort to cannibalism for long, though, because without plants to replenish the oxygen we'd all die.  Environmentalists aren't trying to save other species just because they're cute.  Biodiversity is essential to the survival of all life on earth.

  6. You're totally right, girlfriend. I don't get it either! I just don't think those stupid hippies really understand. Like, I know that the polar bears are dying because the ice in the arctic is melting because of global warming, but what about MY needs? Like, I NEED to drive my giant SUV to Walmart twice a week to get groceries that come from thousands of miles away even though farmers in my area are struggling. Don't they realize that if I stop using my hairdryer every morning I won't be able to maintain my image as a collected individual when really I have no sense of self-awareness at all? I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY DON'T GET IT that I have to keep buying my beauty products from China, or my boyfriend will totally dump me because he has no interest in my personality.

Don't listen to those stupid hippies. They just want you to stop driving your car and shaving your legs and start eating grass and dirt.

Besides, God totally says in the Bible that we are the masters of everything, so basically we can do whatever the h**l we want.

Someday, I hope to be a submissive house wife with no life at all, but the polar bears will still be at the zoo for my 7 kids to see, so who cares if they're dying in the wild?

    P.S.

    I love George Bush!

  7. You are right..we should be letting these animals go extinct NATURALLY, not by destroying their habitat and killing them hundreds of years before their natural extinction would have been. Are you unaware that humans have sped up the natural rate of extinction.  Yes, extinction is a natural and normal process for all life on earth (humans included), but not at the rate it takes place today.  You are right too that we are arrogant control freaks and try to wipe out all life but our own.

  8. Look Darwin not withstanding..Here, but I think every life is precious, even though I am scared of animals..Everything from animals, like Sharks to bunnies has the right to live...As well as us humans!

    (That's me..Honestly)

  9. Darwin was wrong and for this reason I don't give a flip about him.

    Evolution is scentifically impossible, and yet it is taught as fact. the teaching of it has huge consequences beyond science because if it were true then the following would also be true;

You wolud have to divide the human race along subspecies (race)

One subspecies would be superiour to the rest (master race)

    Only the strong should survive.

Darwinism was directly reasponcible for the n**i death camps.

  10. A Darwinian Belief in Natural Selection does not enter my Radar. BUT a Creationist View and Belief does...I do believe that the Strong should and Will Survive through natural selection, if left to their own devices...it IS Mans Arrogance that keeps interrupting. But We as Responsible Humans CANNOT keep destroying Natural Habitats that kill off certain life forms and chalk it up to "Natural Selection".

  11. so it's natural selection that sees me a crippled man who became that way by saving a life, suffer a horrid life living in abject poverty while the crack dealer drives a luxury car, eats in a restaurant, has extravagant parties and gets laid every night? i feel really suicidal now! i mean natural selection means a man intentionally selling poison and raping young girls while prostituting others is more valuable to humankind than i ?

  12. When humans think they have the right to wipe out natural habitat, pollute the ground, water and air they are imposing their will upon everyone/everything. Their actions over-ride and over-rule natural selection. When they develop certain dangerous chemicals that infect, kill, cause mutations, they are not abiding by natural selection. We need all the species of animals, plants, etc., in order to survive here. We are inter-related, inter-connected, inter-dependent upon each other. When we attempt to maintain a healthy ecological/specie balance here on Mother Earth, we are also attempting to maintain our own viability. The arrogance I find appalling is that which believes that we have the right to destroy everything for our own amusement, enjoyment, self-centered desires and greed.

  13. Those save the otter people become attached to a cute face and associate its behavior with that of a humun being. In their eye's an otter fur coat is just like wearing one made of human skin. Watch the movie "Grizzly Man" sometime. Thats a great example of the mental illness these people share. It has a great ending. Mister, name the bears, discovers that the bears see him not as a friend and member of the family, but rather as he is....meat. If you put cute eyes on the ebolia virus these people would start a save the ebolia campaign.

  14. Keep in mind that the major cause of extinction is human intrusion.  We tear down forests in the name of expansion and destroy the habitat.  Then, god forbid, one of these animals wonder into our neighborhood where there once was forest because it's viewed as an intrusion on the animal's part and it's killed.  Our natural selection isn't natural at all.  If we could realize the impact humans are having on the natural environment and actually care about it enough to take steps to end it, there would be far less endangerment to our planet in general.

  15. yes ,I agree . If the animals want to kill each other in the third world we should let them. If they run out of food due to having large families ....too bad let them eat each other.
