rather than being up in arms and defensive about a particualar candidate or trying to bash an opposing political candidate or politician. Is it just to make the person feel good? self worth maybe? I dont know.... some people have to always be correct. or deny that aspects of what others say could be right. some people just make controversies up to get negative reactions from the people on here. just noticed after browsing some of the political questions and the answers to them.

  1. It is nearly impossible to have an entirely civil discussion about politics by people with opposing views. You rarely see it on television if it is honest. To do so would mean putting your emotions aside. To leave a good and just barb unspoken is tantamount to receiving a slap in the face and then doing nothing about it, repeatedly.

  2. No, a civil political discussion is not possible here.

  3. the people who do get defensive are the ones who know nothing about the issues we're facing and how very important this election is to this country.

  4. You can have civilized discussion  with some of us, but think with your above average intelligence & rationalize the sources to which you ask questions from.... what would most other intelligent people be doing all day & night?  Typing on a computer on Y/A?  Not likely, maybe for an hour or two, but I suspect they're out in the real world solving problems & unique questions that the average intellect is oblivious about.  Besides a large majority of Y/A members are only here for the points & could care less if they expand their knowledge & understanding of the world around them.  Tis a real shame.

  5. Is this a political discussion board?

I thought it was a place where children came to play and get the attention that they did not get at home.

  6. It seems to me that more than a few of the posters in this forum do not understand the issues nor the possible futures being foretold by the candidates.
