Why can't people just put stuff back???!!!?

i work at a place such as walmart, and shopko... i usually close at night and one of my jobs is to straighen and the only reason i have to straigten is because people don't put stuff back....even if you didnt put it back atleast leave it with one of the cashiers or something! idk whats your opinion on people who just do what they want and only care about them selfs?

I always put stuff back.  My first job was Old Navy.  I worked there for about 2 years and was amazed at how many people are lazy self-centered slobs.  It would really p**s me off around holiday time when people would walk into the store and say "omg it's so messy in here" and then start picking up clothes, unfolding them and throwing them everywhere.  F**king idiots.

i used to work at walmart and that was one of my biggest pet peeves...they are so $*%&$ lazy that they cant even just hand it to the cashier...they just shove it back behind something or try to hide it. its sooo annoying and of course they dont care because they dont work there or have to put it back!!!

I know exactly what you mean.

The reason is.. people think its your job and it isnt.  Plus they are lazy and rude. Arrogant. Careless.

It means less customers service or items on the shelf.

People complain about no customer service, yet there would be some if... they werent such pigs.

The clerks have to clean up after them continually.  

People would be horrified to know how downright disgusting & filthy the public is, at times.

For example, how often people use the dressing rooms as a toilet.  It gets worse..but I'll let it go.

Correct. Which means they are not stocking new items . It makes them look like they are slower, in getting their work done,  than they really are.

I do it all the time.... I do it cause I decide I didn't like it or found something similar cheaper in another isle or I sit it down and forget I left it there! Sorry! I don't care about my self but its your job to clean up you get paid buy us shopping there!

i totally agree. its cuz no one cares about anyone but themselves and its sad. i once spent an hour and a half organizing an underwear table according to size and color and style at a p*****n girls clothing store and a mom came in with 4 girls and they wrecked the whole thing and it took me another 2 hours to fix it. the mother NEVER said a word just let the girls run wild. no one cares...as long as they get what the want or need and it doesnt put them out of place they will keep putting things in wrong places or messing it up because it is more "covenient" for them rather than fixing it or putting it back all the way at the back of the store...

I work at a clothing store so I know what you mean. Actually, the majority of people do put stuff back, even though they don't fold things perfectly so we have to re-fold when we're not busy. The big messes are caused by a small handful of people who go through the store like rabid squirrels, leaving chaos in their wake. I don't know why they are like that. Maybe they were actually raised by squirrels. It doesn't help to get mad about it. It is your job to deal with really annoying people as well as normal ones. Don't let it get to you.

I was guilty of that same thing until I saw the "put-back" cart at Walmart.  IT was full of things that people put in odd places.  Stockers take a lot of time to put things in order to make the displays neat.  Now,  if I pick something up and decide later I didn't want it, I will put it back or hand it to the cashier.

Sometimes I put stuff back if I see it laying there in the wrong spot. I figure it'll be less work for the employees like you. :)

I have been in a Wal Mart or other store and seen stuff piled in the wrong section of the store.  What did concern me once was several packs of weiners laying on a shelf in the hardware section.

Most people are just going around in their little world and have no care or concern for others.

It is kinda sad.

I admit, I am one of the people that do that...it's mainly because I've never thought it was harmful...

I also thought that giving it to the cashier is annoying for the cashier because they might not know what to do with it...
