Question:

Why can't people of different faiths understand the difference between Worship and Honor.?

The question of why we worship Mary comes up at least once a week and we answer it and tell you we honor Her not worship her and you still don't get it. Where lies the problem? Is this question better?

  1. People deny the truth because they are not willing to face it.  Protetantism is just another attack by darkness on the kingdom of God/heaven on earth.

    Sola Scriptura ?

Go get a copy of the marine corp. manual, take it home study it. Don't forget to rip out the five chapters that contradict what you are doing.

Get other people together to study it, implement it in your life, get the people who you study it with to implement it in there lives.

Oh, don’t forget to get your official marine corps manual concordance, so you can look up words and phrases like “simper fi”, “Iwo Jima”, “Helmet”, “Grenade”, and “Honor”,  etc.

Now does this make you guys marines?

    I think not.

You are missing pretty much everything that it means to be a marine. You haven't had the training that they have done for years you don't have the history -- the understanding of what it means to BE a marine as passed on from the founder of the marine corp to his first lieutenants and on down through the ranks through the years – the direct link to the founder of the marine corp. and writers of the manual, nor do you have  the word of mouth testimony (those unwritten instructions that the founder himself – who by the way did not write the manual -- passed on to his first lieutenants, things the marines have been doing for years),  nor do you have the true meaning of what the manual says. Because, of course, outside of the marine corp., the manual is MEANINGLESS.

People who belong to bible studying fellowships who believe in the doctrine of solely scripture, scripture first, scripture only -- sola scriptura are no more Christians than are the people who got together to study the marine manual are marines.

Now that you and your friends have studied the marine corp manual. Go out in front of a marine corp. recruiting station and as people walk in hand them a tract from the manual and get them to come join you. Go to a marine corp. camp and do the same thing see if they will join you marine corp. manual studying fellowship. But don't call yourselves that. Call yourselves, "marines". Go to the veterans day parade and hand out tracts from the manual there, and tell them to come to your marine barracks. Let people know that you have the way that all they have to do is study the manual with you and they too can be marines.

Oh yes and erect marine corp. manual studying colleges and graduate what?

Experts in misunderstanding the marine corp. manual.

And OHHHH yes don't forget to call yourselves not just marines but "heroes(saints)", because after all everyone who is part of your marine corp., manual studying fellowship is a "hero(saint)", after all the manual says that doesn't it?  Forget about honoring real marine “Heroes(Saints)” like Colonel Louis C. Plain and Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone;  or Gunnery Sergeant Donald A. Levesque (RET); or Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham ... etc.; for after all the manual tells us not to do that, right?

Then, go up to a real marine (if you dare) tell them what you are doing, and ask them what is wrong with it?

  2. This question seems to be especially popular after they return from church where is seems their sermons are filled with anti-Catholic propaganda.

They do not want an honest answer and do not want to hear the truth. They only wish to spew their hatred on YA and have others affirm their beliefs.

  3. This people are ignorant...forget about them.

Catholics see Mother Mary as a Motherly figure and we honor her like how we honor our own mothers. It is like mother-child relationship.

Many people ask their friends to help them pray..the same thing here.. we SEEK Mother Mary or the saints and angels to pray for us or with us. We are all part of Christ. As ONE family.

It makes the prayer more powerful and meaningful and of course.

    people will never understand...

  4. If you are forced to honour her, what's the difference?

You don't really know her, or whether she really existed so you can't honour her by your own choice, if you know what I'm trying to say.

  5. They just don't want to see! it's that simple, The faith of Catholics is clearly stated that no one is to be worshipped Only the Trinitarian God.

But I heard one say that Catholics don't believe in the Resurrection Of Jesus??????? So it is taught to them As Scripture Clearly States Mary is to be called blessed amongst woman by all Generations.

  6. It really makes me wonder.  We (Catholics) worship God, Who in His Infinite Mercy, gave His only Son to be our Role Model. Are we not, then, to walk in His Footsteps, and love and honor His mother like He did? What human, who has ever lived, or who ever will live, could love his or her mother as much as Jesus loved His? He loved her with the most perfect love a human could ever have for his mother. And no matter how much devotion one has to Mary, no matter how many rosaries he or she prays, etc., this person will never be able to honor Mary perfectly.  They won't even come close to showing her the degree of love and respect that Jesus displayed toward her during His life on earth.

People should understand that Catholics praise and honor Mary ONLY because God wishes for us to do so.  He has no need of human praise, so He lets Mary be our Vessel of Devotion.

    God bless!

    Rob

  7. You have a problem with Mary. We don't.

Through her the Holy Spirit brought Jesus into the world. She was a virgin. Emphasis on "was". Joseph, her husband, did not "know" her till after she had given birth to the Saviour. (Matthew 1:25)

Then Joseph had sexual relations with Mary and the Lord blessed them with children. Mary ceased to be a virgin. Yet in your mind she is a perpetual virgin which is ludicrous. See my point?

You have a problem with Mary. We don't.

  8. Worship means adherent love, i see nothing wrong with you if you do worship Mary.

  9. I don't think that it's a question of mistaking the meaning of the words.

People who are quite capable of understanding the concepts "Worship God" and "Honour thy father and thy mother", and the differences between them are nit picking when it comes to the behaviour you complain of.

They are, it would seem, being deliberately obtuse, simply for the purpose of being annoying, unkind, cruel, and let's face it, un-Christlike.

I do not understand how a self professed Christian can deny that another Christian is a Christian.

It sounds, to me, as though they are trying to portray themselves as a "better" person, in terms of Religion, and that smacks of vanity and pride, both of which I thought were sins.

I don't understand the psychology of Christianity, as it is practiced in this forum quite as well as I would like, but I am sure that continued observation from the sidelines will eventually bear fruit.

It's one thing to be familiar with the Religion, but quite another to understand the way the Religious think.

Perhaps your best course of action is to ignore those who attack your Faith, turn the other cheek, so to speak.

I'm sure they're not worth your time or effort worrying about.

    :)

  10. oh i know you honor her, i asked my dad this (he is a roman catholic) and he talked to be about it (an hour long explanation of how you honor her not worship lol)  but for atheists we have the same problem. people think we worship Darwin  when we don't. people also believe we worship the devil but impossible because we don't believe in him. so really it is just a bunch of people who don't do their research and just go by assumptions.

  11. They don't WANT to understand. They have "simple answers for simple minds" and they like it that way.  They like having their black/white handbook of the fundamentalist view of the Bible and don't want the ambiguity of having to reason things out and understand that science doesn't undermine God (creationism versus evolution) and other issues that aren't directly stated in the Bible in black/white.  They don't want to see that Divine Revelation (all that has been revealed by/about God) is a combination of Divine Scripture and Divine Tradition - they just want a simple handbook of the Bible so they can feel qualified in interpreting the Scriptures and disregarding difficult concepts (worship is not equivalent to veneration;  asking Saints to ALSO pray for you in addition to your own prayers just like you'd ask a friend to pray for you - without being accused of "worshiping your friend"; etc).  Simple answers are for simple minds. They want to put God in a "small manageable box"....... let them. I've given up trying to explain things to people that WANT to reject anything other than the things that reinforce their own narrow views. It's like this - "you can' t teach a pig to dance - you don't get anywhere and it frustrates the pig !"  Don't throw the pearl to the swine.  They're content with wallowing in the mud.  And now that I've made so many friends - I'll move on.

  12. We don't understand why Catholics pray to Mary. Jesus Himself taught us how to pray: to God. We are never ever told Scripturally to pray to any saint and/or Mary. Jesus is the only intercessor between us and God and to say otherwise diminishes the need for Jesus.

I agree, we should respect the position she had as giving birth to Jesus, but that's it. I don't think she would even want people making such a big deal out of her. When it's all said and done, Christianity has nothing to do with Mary. She was just the necessary "vehicle" so to speak, to bring Jesus into the world. The focus should be on Jesus, not Jesus and...

  13. Here is a simple answer to a common question:  Ignorance of the facts.

People who don't understand our religious practices see one thing and think another.  This doesn't only apply to perceived idolatry within the Catholic church either.

Before a person makes a statement he should arm himself with knowledge.

  14. why this question is very common? because  (we as true born again christians) we care to those who are ignorantly following traditions and man-made doctrines as commanded by Christ Jesus the One True Living God; Matthew 28:18-20. Besides even Christ Jesus  Himself when He was tempted He didnot fought back against the devil but He throws verses in the Bible; Mat 4:1  Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Mat 4:2  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

Mat 4:3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mat 4:5  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

Mat 4:6  And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Mat 4:7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Which means if you're truly reading God's Holy Words the Holy Bible then you must know the truth.Joh 14:5  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    Eph 2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    1Ti 2:1  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

1Ti 2:2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

    1Ti 2:3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

1Ti 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1Ti 2:6  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

if you honor someone like mary then why do you keep all the feast in honor to her? maybe you just not aware to roman catholic doctrines about mary. read catholic encyclopedia about roman catholics doctrines. then you'll know the truth and most especially read God's Holy Words the Holy Bible. also go to biblebelievers.com for more information.

Now my question to you: are you aware that mary is also human like ourselves? Luk 1:24  And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

Luk 1:25  Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Luk 1:26  And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

Luk 1:27  To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

Luk 1:28  And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Luk 1:29  And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

Luk 1:30  And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

Luk 1:31  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luk 1:32  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

Luk 1:33  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Luk 1:34  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Luk 1:35  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Luk 1:36  And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Luk 1:37  For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Luk 1:38  And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

    Luk 1:39  And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

Luk 1:40  And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

Luk 1:41  And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Luk 1:42  And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

Luk 1:43  And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Luk 1:44  For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

Luk 1:45  And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Luk 1:46  And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

Luk 1:47  And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Luk 1:48  For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Luk 1:49  For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

Luk 1:50  And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

Luk 1:51  He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

  15. Some of these born-again Christians( such as Christ J, Chris) are making up their own traditions and choosing only Bible verses that they want to choose and misinterpret for their own form of faith.

It is also very sad that they are preached things in their sermons that critisize other Christian faiths.

For those who spew hatred towards others......it is our gain and their loss.
