Why can't real boxers be boxing judges?

  1. You can apply to the State Athletic Commission to be a judge. They're looking for knowledge of boxing. But you could have a conflict of interests if you're an active boxer: you might get to judge a competitor's (i.e. another contenders) fight. If you're retired there's no reason you shouldn't judge. Once you are registered with the SAC it's up to the promoter in agreement with the fighters' managers to pick the judges.


  2. That's a good point. Boxers train and understand the sport more than anyone especially in contrast to judges who judge from a spectatoral point of view.

  4. boxing judges all look like they are 100 years old and never threw a punch a day in their life i wonder how in the world they pick the judges
