Why can't some of my friends just like me for who I am?

Some of my friends have told me that I should dress a certain way, wear my hair a certain way, and/or wear makeup. Then they say I'm pretty. I don't get it. If I was pretty, why would they say these things? Why can't they just like my looks the way they are? I don't care what my friends look like at all. They all look fine to me anyways.

  1. why can't your friends like you for who you are?

because they're not very good friends.

  2. If they can't like you for who you are, then they are certainly not what you should call your friends. These are what you should call acquaintances. No matter what, be true to you and be yourself.

  3. friends will like you no matter what...they may not always agree with you but should always like you..but take a step back and look at what they are trying to tell you  that  maybe they can see you looking better or even more prettier with a little change

  4. u shouldnt really listen to them just say u like the way u r and tell them to deal with it and stuff they will get the hang of it

  5. Well it can go two ways with this.

One: They don't sound like friends at all. Friends are people who don't count the appearance of a person but the personality.

    OR

Two: They could just be telling you little hints to maybe make you glam yourself up a bit so you can feel better. Maybe they've been thinking you have a bit of low self confidence or something.
