Why can't the US understand Iran when they say that they will not give up their nuclear enrichment program?

US politicians are under the thumb of Israel and they get generous donations from AIPAC and JINSA.

Does it ever occur to people that Iran just wants to build nuclear reactors to provide energy to run their country?  To turn the frickin' lights on?  They are nowhere near building any nuke weapons.

Same reason that we didn't "understand" when n**i Germany said they wouldn't give up control of Europe.

You are operating under the flawed premise what we are giving them a choice.  Were there to be a conflict with them, they would have to place large orders with the French for cases and cases of white flags, so that they could surrender quickly enough.  Or is your memory so short that you don't recall how quickly Saddam's special Republican Guard units surrendered?  Maybe we should reevaluate who is being stupid here

Any country with that much oil, does not need nuclear power....duh.
