Hi. I have three cavities and I absolutely HATE going to the dentist. I have to go two times, once for two fillings, and again for the third. How come we can't do all three at once and get it all over with? Thanks!

  1. It really depends where the cavities are. Example would be two on the bottom right and one bottom left. With this example they would have to numb your whole bottom of your mouth. by numbing any bottom part of your mouth that side of the tongue becomes numb also so if you numb both sides you might not have control of it.

I know it sounds crazy but the same thing you are doing happened to me and they told me that reason or something like that.

  2. maybe he find that working on such an unwilling patient is stressful, and needs to spread it out,or maybe the work need longer than he's got. would you like all 3 done badly in 1 appointment, or done well over 2 or even 3 appointments? its your body, but maybe the dentist should be allowed to do his job in the way hes most comfortable.Anyway, whatever you hate, a dental appointment is only a minor inconvenience, isnt it? TRy not to be a difficult patient, or you'll have an unwilling dentist.

  3. Dosen't want to numb your whole mouth.

  4. It depends on where the cavities are. If they are on on different sides he won't want to numb your whole mouth as it can cause you bite your tongue/lips/cheek and you'd find it very difficult to eat.
