Why can't the employees at fast food restaurants ever get your order right?

Because they are uasually either teenagers or older low-life people that droped out of school early.

Fast food working is at the VERY bottom of the food chain when it comes to carriers.

White Castle uasually does good though for me.

I'm really bothered by some of the responses to this question. Not ALL fast food employees are like that.I agree with Antonia, since she is the only one who appears to have some logic. I am really passionate about my job at McD's, and I'm not ashamed nor hesitant to speak up about it. I am extremely offended, by the people who respond with the answers 'LOL cuz they dumb!! thats why they work @ fast food LOL!!!". Funny how the lack of proper grammar and spelling seems to be kind of ironic. I'm not dumb, not one bit, as you can tell. I want to make my customers happy, and I want to give people their money's worth. Personally, I think that I'm one of the few who actually gives a d**n about their job and doesn't look at it as a way to make some extra cash on the side.

Hahaha it's funny how everyone who has insulted fast food employees uses poor grammar. "Cause they dumb"? Wtf.

A lot of times it's the CUSTOMER who messes up their order, or isn't specific enough. Also, they rattle off their order like they're some type of auctioneer, causing the employee to miss what they said. For example- "let me get a double cheeseburger, 2 fries, a coke, and a number 4, and a mcflurry". And another thing... is adding a "please", "thank you", or (god forbid) a SMILE with your order impossible?

lol its so funny because 99% of the time its the customer who screws up the order, for example they just wanna blurt out an order like "let me get a number 6, a nugget, and number 5, and a soda" and im like "ok speedy gonzalez lets take it easy, what SIZE do you want that combo, and WHAT drink" im no pyshic here. and dont tell me what u want on your sandwich, how bout you tell me what you DON'T want lol makes it easier. But of course i always get the typical "wow that was fast" comment because like you said it isnt rocket science, its more like dentistry, its like pulling teeth with some customers, but hey I'm a college freshman, just got straight As, and will have about 20 grand to buy my new car in a couple months, knowing how to manage my time, investments, and school work, I wouldnt call myself "dumb" lol you people

I ask this every single time i order fast food... It's like. I know you're an idiot and that's why you are working the Drive Thru.. but is it that difficult to push buttons with combo #'s on it and drinks??? I once had to cancel an order inside a Jack in the crack.. b/c the idiotic cashier didn't know how to order my combo with Large fries but small drink... She said it wasn't possible. I hate fast food now.. I hate dealing with morons.

Probably because there is a great bit of turnover in the employment at most fast food restaurants. They can't give them enough training and 90 percent of the employee's are minors. That should explain it in a nutshell.
