  1. b/c just like Mexico, they weren't good enough to qualify

  2. its a crime that England along with Germany and Spain won't be able to compete.  The reason: teams can only have 3 players over the age of 23 on their team(stupidest rule ever). All three of those teams would otherwise be in the tournament and absolutely dominate because their best players are a "bunch of old men" from an olympic perspective in which old men means mid-late 20's.

  3. ben f doesnt know wat he's talking abt ignore him....cuz there can only be a great britain team in olympics....but if the players of othr countries in britain join up with england to form a team it goes against fifa's policies in some way and then all of them will have to play as gb in future even in wcs, euros

  4. England haven't got an Olympic team. You need an Olympic organization to compete in the Olympics, but England come under the British Olympic organization. So for English players to compete in the Olympics there would have to be agreement from the FAI, FAW and SFA. That's not going to happen, because unlike England, Wales and Scoland have nationalistic pride, and would hate to endanger their status with FIFA.

For the 2012 Olympics Blatter (world' biggest idiot) says Britain can compose a one-off team, comprising all 4 countries, since it's London's Olympics. He's said this team's participation would not endanger each individual country's status within FIFA. However he stated quite plainly that any further participation as a British team would mean unification for all countries of the Union.

Wales and Scotland still don't fancy joining for 2012, because they've said these are England's games, and not theirs. Scotland could be independent by 2012 anyway!

  5. Firstly, there is an age limit to the olympic game. The players have to be Under 23's, except for 3.

There are also limitations to stop teams fielding their national teams, and clubs are often reluctant to release star players who could get injured.

  6. they're not good enough
