Guam is an island in the pacific occupied and used by America. The residents of Guam do not have an elected representative in the US Congress. Why? I thought America was all about democracy and all that?!

  1. Democratic principles were valued enough that America secured Guam's freedom from the imperial army of the Japanese

  2. Actually, Guam sends one elected (but non-voting) representative to the U.S. House of Representatives. The current U.S. Representative for Guam is Madeleine Bordallo, who was elected to the office by Guam's voters in 2003.

  3. Democracy and all of that is for the States; you are a territory.

If you wish to vote; move.

    You have that right.
