Everything in Europe and Japan is so much better for the environment. Like they're trimming their carbon emissions unlike here in Canada. What should we do?

  1. WHATEVER YOU DO. DO NOT COPY AMERICA! WE HAVE BECOME LAZY AND WE CONTRIBUTE MORE TO GLOBAL WARMING THAN DARN NEAR ANYBODY ELSE ON THE PLANET, AND GEORGE.W, BUSH HAS MADE IT A POINT TO RESIST COMPLYING WITH THE WORLD'S REQUEST FOR STRICTER POLLUTION AND EMMISSION CONTROLS.

    HAVE-A-LOVING-DAY!

  2. actually, a lot of europe has our pollution, if it wasn't for wind currents, we'd probably be dead from pollution

  3. we need to start doing the same starting by buying a smart car ,dont smoke, dont litter ,including chewing gum, safe electricity and water and do everything organic.....the the example you want others to be ....................

  4. just like star recycling and keep doing better things to help the enviroment. Ask your school principle if u guyz can start recycling.

  5. Flossy, Asia/India and Africa have not covered themselves with glory when it comes to environmental controls on industry.  Neither have the non-US/Canada Americas.

China is certainly not a model to follow for environmental regulations, neither is North Korea or India.  It is easy to bash the west and ascribe environmental purity and joy-joy attributes to Asia, bit the truth is very different.

European countries have far stricter taxes and charges for large vehicles that Americans/Canadians would balk at! Engines of less than 1.6L are common in Europe.  Petrol and diesel are far more expensive too.  Americans and Canadiands believe that they have a right to drive big vehicles- there are not votes in down-sizing in the US.

Australians drive just as much as Americans, on poorer quality roads, and with expensive fuel: but our people have moved to more economical vehicles because we do not have a huge car industry in a country that self-consumes.  The big car market here is in steady decline.

My focus has been on road transport.  but the same arguments apply to factories.  No real internal pressure to change in the US.

There is not much the rest of the world can do about that

  6. You should decrease a lot more the CFCs gases' emission. Also, you should start using electrical vehicles instead of gasoline-based ones, hydraulic energy, recycle every single waste. It is not very likely that everything from that will happen.

  7. With declining populations and slowing economies or environmentally?

    Well... environmentally...

Global Warming hasn't been proved to be man-made and many claim that the solar impacts are much more powerful than any impacts man has made.

Man does need to be more respectful to the environment like stopping deforestation but we must also put the Health of Humanity before the Environment.

Our 4% contribution of CO2 hasn't been proven to have caused any warming as of yet. Till time and technology can completely explain the causes like they had with the Ozone problem, we must be patient and not be hasty to jump on an alarmist bandwagon.

  8. ? Compared to the world as a whole, Europe and Japan still consume far more than a fair share of resources! Do you mean why can't Canada and the USA be more like Europe and Japan? If we want to save the world, we all need to be more like Africa and Asia!

  9. no

  10. chose a president that cares about that... oh no .. too late! in japan they kill the whales.. to eat them.. they are not so good !
