  1. How boring would That be?

  2. I mistakenly took Esperanto in college and hated it.

  3. Because there is so many different kinds of people.. duh.

  4. We would lose so much if that was the case.

    Learning to speak another language teaches you to think in different ways and approach situationd from a different angle.

    And some words cannot be adequately translated;

    'joie de vivre' is a french word meaning 'joy of life' but it's a celebration when the French say it, like "lo ch'iem' is in Hebrew ( and, as far as I can remember, lo ch'iem is always said as a shout, as if daring the gods to deny the thrill of living)

    Words like this have their own special meaning and they really have no direct English equivalent.  So we would lose if they were to disappear.

  5. I know huh! How about Spanglish?

  6. Some countries are taking too long to accept English as the way ahead. give it A COUPLE OF HUNDRED YRS

  7. Perhaps because people have the right to their own culture and that includes their own language.  A world full of clones would be an extremely boring place...diversity is a great thing.
