Question:

Why can't there be a law so that only people who are certified can vote?

For example every time there is a presidential election there is a 6 hour, monthly "going over" of candidates, and then people can vote after 4 months or so? Why do we allow all these people who maybe even just came to the US not 2 years ago just vote, and others not even know their candidate's policies but just like them because they look a certain way or something?

So why isnt voter education mandatory.

  1. The only thing I can say may be a good idea is to have people have to take a quiz before being allowed to vote, that would mean people actually had to know what the candidates qualifications and stand on issues are. But that may in itself violate people's civil liberties, so I doubt it would pass, too bad it would eliminate all the lazy people who do not take the effort to actually research the candidates.

  2. your name is Octavius? i guess you with your friend Mark Antony have the same idea over democracy.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND: one men one vote????

    ignorant!!

  3. I wish!!!

Did you know that the most informed people listen to talk radio over five hours a week?

The most intelligent people (in a large group of over nine percent of the registered population)  tend to vote for people other than Democrats?

    Golly!  Certification for voters.  Nice!

As mentioned above, by another person of course, the ACLU would intervene.   However, we could (if I were president) handle the ACLU attorneys with my Plan of Action.  It is also known as Shock and Awe.

Actually, I would like another bill to be passed:

    No representation without taxation.

                                                             .

  4. Because not enough people vote anyway so why should they care

  5. The ACLU would have something to say about that.

    It would 'disenfranchise' somebody.

  6. As I understand thee point of your question has to do more with how informed voters are about the candidates that are running for office, than how long they have been in the United States.

(Only citizens of the United States of America can vote!!!)

I am all for voters being informed about all the positions on all the issues of interest to voters. It is my opinion that candidates should be able to circulate booklets and send them by mail free of charge to all the voters in the United States of America about the issues the candidates feel that are important to the future of the United States of America. These booklets should contain a form for voter feedback on issues that they feel they want th opinion of the candidates on that have not been addressed in the campaign  material. Supplementary booklet could be printed to address issue that are of wide concern to the general public that have not been previously addressed in the first booklets printed by the campaign staff of each of the candidates for office.

  7. You are not certified!! Learn about democracy is you first class before your certification.

  8. What?????

  9. Its called democracy; not pretty, but better than the alternative

  10. The LAST thing most politicians in the U.S. want is an intelligent, informed voter. They would never be able to pull off the tricks and get elected if the voters paid attention.

  11. Most people who vote are certifiable anyway.

  12. Because that type of c**p was used for many years to disenfranchise people and deprive them of their right to vote.  Check the US Constitution.
