read/ write error suggest that file properties are write protected, or drive being used is not writable, readable means drive or disk is not compatible or missing,

assuming you are trying to upload photos from camera to computer, verify that camera is connected and sd disk is in camera and/or camera is on, then verify that files are being transfered to hard-drive, and not cd-rom or other unknown port like usb or printer,
