Why can't voters understand we are busted, bankrupt, and living on borrowed time and money?

I am just waiting for the other shoe to fall when the election is settled. At least I won't be working in a shoe store anymore. I am pretty tall and can pick oranges out in Calif. like the Oakies did in the Depression. I love oranges.

ignorance is bliss

people wont realize anything until its too late to do anything about it, thats the way its been done and thats the way it will continue to be. People dont wanna see the facts they just want a quick fix they dont want to do the work, basically they just expect someone else to do something about it while they sit around doing nothing they just dont know that the others are doing the same and nothing is being done.

education is the only tool against ignorance, educate yourself and learn the facts and dont be scared to throw around the word Recession

What I can't understand is why The people responsible for this mess is not being held accountable? We could not afford this illegal war, for more than six months, after that we had to borrow again and again, to wage it. Who wanted it, and had planned it well before 9-11? That's right, the same guy who sat on his A&&, 5 days after Katrina! I guess everybody is scared of him, or Chaney., Maybe it's that, anybody who has the power to call them on it is in cahoots with them? It looks like Democracy is dying, all it's going to take to kill it is another 9-11. I don't put it past them.

Because voters listen to what people tell them rather than researching it for themselves.  Same as Politicians.  Most people will listen to the news when the stock market goes up and be happy, but what does the stock market have to do with them?  Most people have little if any money in the stock market, and will still be drowning in debt.

We need to take our finances into our own hands, stop buying things we can't afford and start spending on the things we need.  I was watching the news the other day and a woman who was dressed fashionably and wore some really nice earrings was complaining about gas prices. That outfit probably cost around $200 if she got it on sale.  That same $200 could have bought her a cheaper outfit and 40 gallons of gas, enough for most people for an entire month.

I would not worry too much about the national debt and all that.  It will work itself out eventually when we stop shooting billions of dollars into the desert.  And it does not matter who gets elected, we don't have enough money to keep going at this rate, unless we start throwing rocks and flying kites with pointy edges.

Good luck with the orange picking, hopefully the drought and fires in California don't ruin that plan.  As for me, I'm not that tall or strong, so I will just keep going to school.
