Why can't we create our own message boards?

Question

Yahoo does not seem to allow members to create their own message boards for subjects not listed. I have already posed the question to them and received no viable solution.

that group thing doesn't work.

There's a link at the bottom of the left column on groups.yahoo.com that says "Create a new group today."  It will take you to Start a Group, which I've linked below.

The subjects listed ought to cover everything.  Did you check out all the sub-categories?
