Why can't we have a First & 2nd Division in Australian Rugby League ?

Rather than just Premier League, Jersey Flegg and Bundi Cup, why not have two larger divisions ? A delegation for the bottom and top 2nd Division side, and reintroduce the Bears, Magpies, Newtown Jets, Balmain, maybe even Ipswich Jets or Toowoomba Clydesdales ? who are both feeder Clubs for the NRL anyway. I think it would be great to see the old foundation Clubs going around !

The current Premier League has no pull or support but even out the comp with both ! I think it could work !

  4. yeah I agree fully our system should be like the uk super league system of promotion and relegation But why not re-admitt the rams and the reds maybe  add a few qld cups sides have 16 teams in each division maybe introduce a PNG side and sides from Tonga, Samoa and Fiji anyway why not have 2 divisions. and BRING BACCK THE BEARS too

  5. Yes that would be a great idea, a first and second division.  Hopefully New Zealand might get a team in.

  6. Agreed...I think the main reason is the leagues in all Australian sports have come around backwards...instead of making that decision to have promotion and relegation and multiple divisions like the rest of the world, apart from the USA sports in the beginning...they just left them develop in any which way...

It should also be Australia wide, the only problem may be expenses for the poorer lower clubs with travel...big place Australia that's sparsely populated...

It's such a shame that European clubs in sports exist for so long and here we are forced to merge, takeover, cease to exist or start again...all sports, NRL,AFL, old-NSL, NBL etc etc...all the clubs could still exist in the low divisions, by simply being relegated down...and it would be good for punishment, because when you take away points from clubs, they finish bottom...but if there's a chance of relegation then it's a lot more serious...it also would be good to keep them honest at the bottom of the ladder 'til the last game...
