Why can't we talk issues and not personals?

Question

I am really tired of the attacks. It sounds like a bunch of little kids. This is a political forum. No more making up stories(lies). Admit when you are wrong or make your point logically or go read a book.

What say you???

Who would pay attention besides us dorks and nerds?  Seriously.  

We're talking about a society that doesn't have the attention span to read a book or newspaper and would rather get their information from 24-hour news stations that use 30 second soundbytes to prove their point.

And you want to talk issues?  We'd need true education reform before that happened.

Seriously, I was talking with some friends this weekend and we dove into how the war in vietnam started with some other guys at the bar, for truly no reason (read my first sentence of this post) at all.  One guy  actually said "oh, you must've saw the same TV show on this that I did..."  This is written, recorded history.  what TV show would you need to watch or assume everyoen watched to know about the Vietnam war?

People do take it too far. Politics is fun and should be taken that way. There is no need for hate. I disagree with a lot of people, but I do not hate them for their opinion. It is fun to argue over politics.

I AGREE WITH YOU.  WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES AND WHERE EACH CANDIDATE IS GOING TO TAKE THIS COUNTRY INCLUDING THE DETAILS.  YES WE NEED TO LOOK AT HOW EACH CANDIDATE DID IN THEIR PAST TO DETERMINE WHAT THEY WILL DO IN THE FUTURE.

"family values" IS an issue, especially to so called "conservative republicans", so when their vp nomination's unwed, teenage daughter turns up pregnant that IS an issue, not a "personal attack".

Children need a format where they can get the validation and attention they crave.  If it were issues, and only issues there would be very little activity here.  Almost eight years have gone by and the party in the White House has nothing to be proud of, therefore the issue, issue is a non issue.  We will either have more of the same, or we will have change.  That will be decided in November there are 138 days left. Will the voters decide, or will the electronic black boxes decide.

You should direct your question to the McCANE campaign! That's usually where the attacks stem from....just look back at the convention last night.

Cause not everyone is aware of the issues. They defend the one candidate that they see on TV or the one they here about from bias friends and family. A majority of the arguments aren't arguments at all. Honestly there are only a few on here that actually are willing to do research or look objectively and know about issues. When they dont know what they are talking about, they will go to personal attacks.
