  1. you can tickle the roof of your mouth

  2. Because we are sensible/concious to ourselves.

  3. i can!

  4. We cannot tickle ourselves because when you feel a tickle, it is a spontaneous reflex to a feeling that is not anticipated, and if you know the what the feeling is, and when it will happen, then it is not spontaneous, which will not feel the the same way.

  5. Tickling is about expectation and control. The more you feel in control of the situation, the less your body will react to it. Obviously if you are doing the tickling you know exactly what to expect.

  6. i can tickle myself, why can't you?

  7. Being tickled is a complex psychological proces. Usually when something or someone whould touch your side, or your ear (for example) you would move away from it. This is a reflex to protect your body.

But in a situation where you feel completely safe (in the arms of your partner) you can suppress this reflex as his/her touch is also something very desired.

When you touch yourself, there is no shunning-reflex, so no 'conflict'. Else you would not be able to clean out your ears :)
