  1. You can play mixed teams in Masters Games - in this part of the world - Australiasia - not a professional level, but the best teams in the Masters, are very very good.  These are played once a year - age is 25 years for women and 30 for men, ie. upwards.

Of course, mixed is played all the time in social volleyball games - which is just for fun - the usual family and work teams, etc.  It will get competitive if the players are up to it.

  2. You cant play guys and girls together because the guys are so powerful. The nets are two different heights. For girls its 7 1/2 feet and for guys its 8 feet high.

These are reasons ou can play together.

  3. They can play together, just get into a mixed team. Although the styles between male and female are usually very different, it's a great mixture in the professional world. Just like mixed doubles in tennis!

  4. it just would not work out.  Guys and girls play two different types of play.  Girls play rally ball and boys play volleyball with power.  Then the guys would either play on a lower net or girls play on a higher net.

  5. idk but i would to play with the guys.cuz i no im as good as some of them.but other then that i think it would be more fun.lol

  6. i think its because some people are sexest... which i think is totally wrong!

  7. well i can tell you that they can in my ward, stakes  we are playing vollyball and it is very fun

  8. They do. They teacher was a volley ball player. She played with her boy friend named Jared.

  9. Mens volleyball and womens volleyball are different. Although the fundamentals of the game (bumping, setting, hitting, serving) are the same. Men mostly can jump higher than women, and can hit and serve harder. They also play on a higher net. If men and women played together it would be unfair for the women because the nets are higher and men just have that large vertical. It would be hard to compete with.

  10. Because here in Huntington Beach, Calif. the women wear those very skimpy tongs and it's way too distracting for us helpless sexually minded males.  Now, if the women would wear berkas we males would have a much fairer chance at the game.

  11. men  play to hard and sometime girls do.

  12. USA Volleyball has co-ed and reverse co-ed championships.  And that is the highest level of co-ed volleyball currently available.

You are correct.  I have not seen it at the professional level for years.  In the late 1970's, there was a professional volleyball league called the International Volleyball Association.  It was co-ed and one of the few examples of co-ed professional sports ever played.  The claim to fame for the IVA was Wilt Chamberlain of the NBA.  They televised the All Star game when he played.

  13. yes they should so that they can have s*x in water

  14. Because it is not competitive. It's like football. It would just be unfair. No offense, women can play with some guys. But, if you have the top woman player playing against the top guy player, the guy would most likely win.

  15. Because men have a natural ability to spike....hard!!! I can dig girl's spikes, but men's...that's a different story!!!

  16. To much bouncing going on

  17. the way men and women compete in the sport is very different.  each has their own strengths and weaknesses that contribute to how the game goes.  Also, if you are a women-it is difficult to compete with ppl that jump 10 more inches than you!!!  There are co-ed teams, but they have certain rules like boys must hit from the back row-or there must be a certain number of girls on the court at a time.  While mens volleyball is usually balls hit harder/bigger blocks...women are way more technically sound on the whole-because we have to be.  That makes the game full of excitement with long rallies and good defensive plays.

  18. Guys jump much higher. This is the real reason. Women can compete in all aspects of the game except at the net.

When they do play together in competitions, there are usually handicaps for the guys at the net.

However, boys teams 14 and under can compete against girls teams if they play up 2 years. I just found this out last year.
